Tendons healed, nephew saved, pain gone!

Siphewe (left) healed & no longer needs a crutch! His Nephew (middle) receives Jesus as a result.

Was at a Petrol Station yesterday and saw a man (Siphewe - left of photo) limping with a crutch and a brace on his leg. After some hesitation the thought came to me, "if you really believe God will heal him when you pray, wouldn't you just go without hesitation?" So at that I went over and asked him what was wrong with his leg. He explained the ligaments in his ankles were practically torn and thus he walked with constant pain. I mentioned Jesus can heal him and then knelt down and laid my hands on his ankles Click to read more »

Buried with Christ – living a new life – Romans 6:4

Baptism of New Life

“Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:4) In II Corinthians 13:5 the Apostle Paul encourages us to "examine ourselves" to see if we are truly "in the faith". In a world where "Christianity" is often "practiced" as a fashionable mode of operation or a regimen of rules rather than experienced as a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ, it's so easy to get sucked in to the "normality" and various pulls of life and forget that our relationship with Jesus should result in us living a new life -- a life in which our visions, goals, time and viewpoints are markedly different than the world's "me-first" prototype.

"... we have been buried with him through baptism into death ..."
Jesus was crucified (for us!) and buried in a tomb. In the same way our old life characterized by "me-first" priorities should be dead, gone and buried. (See Luke 9:23.) Click to read more »

Dive – Music Video

Dive – Music Video

An inspiring music video by Steven Curtis Chapman encouraging us to take a step of faith and dive in to the river of God's Spirit and will. “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink. Just as the scripture says, ‘From within him will flow rivers of living water.’” Click to read more »

Vision vs. busyness

Vision Key

One thing I keep getting reminded of is the importance of living with vision. It's so easy in this day and age to get so busy with so many things ... sometimes to the neglect of what's most important. Have you ever stopped to identify your personal "mission statement"? Something that clearly outlines what you're striving for in life? Without this mission statement (and a plan to implement it) there can be a tendency to simply float along in life and wonder if we're accomplishing anything of lasting value. Click to read more »

Connecting with God – The altar and the incense

Altar of Incense

I was just reading the Bible with Kaden (my six year old son) in Exodus chapter 30 where God explains how the alter for burning incense was to be built. It struck me how God's instructions concerning this altar and the incense parallels our spiritual walk and offers insight for walking in fellowship with Him. This altar was located just outside the Holy of Holies (where God would manifest His presence) and was separated only by a thick curtain. The incense to be burned on this altar was a specific mixture set forth by God Himself... Click to read more »

Am I a good Christ?

Woman looking in the mirror

By Francis Chan, Catalyst I think it’s time we stop asking ourselves the question: “Am I a good Christian?” We live in a time when the term “Christian” has been so diluted that millions of immoral but nice people genuinely consider themselves “good Christians.” We have reduced the idea of a good Christian to someone who believes in Jesus, loves his or her family, and attends church regularly. Others will label you a good Christian even though your life has no semblance of likeness to the way Christ spent His days on earth. Perhaps we should start asking the question: “Am I a good Christ?” In other words, do I look anything like Jesus? This question never even entered my mind until a friend of mine made a passing comment to me one day. Click to read more »
